Long-Form Features

As a newspaper reporter, I wrote many features articles, primarily covering music, entertainment, arts, and community news. I'm most proud of this profile story that ran in the early 2000s, although I wish I could revise some of its outdated references now that we live in a more culturally-tolerant (and informed) society!

Reviews & Visitor Guides

When I lived in North Carolina, I wrote a blog for The Charlotte Observer in which I reviewed indie bands' records and shows. I also wrote venue reviews and neighborhood guides for special visitor publications. See the link below for the final copy of a restaurant review published at VisitNC.com. (The restaurant is now closed, so the review has been deleted from the site.)
